This is the official Web Site of The Health Centre Surgery, the General Medical Practice of Dr Carmen Simo and Dr Manoj Wijesinghe.
The Health Centre Surgery has been providing NHS based General Practice in Halewood, a socioeconomically mixed suburban area of Knowsley, bordering into Liverpool, since 1972.
Dr Simo and Dr Wijesinghe are also assisted by Dr Matthew Cullen and Practice Nurse, Julie Daly and will be joined by a further GP, Dr Christine McGovern, in March 2020.

When the Practice moved from the old Halewood Health Centre (now under the car park!) to the modern purpose built combined resource centre integrating Health and Social Services, The Halewood Centre, in January 2009 it kept its official name, The Health Centre Surgery, to avoid confusion within the NHS.

New Telephone Call-Back Service
This practice now offers a ‘Call-Back’ service following an upgrade to our telephone systems. From the 20th of December you will hear a message which will tell you how to request a call back. However, you will still have the option to remain on the line if you need an urgent appointment. Please note however, that if you ask for a call back, you will need to be available to answer your telephone as we are unable to make multiple calls. If you miss the call, you will need to call the surgery back.
Did you know you can get a GP appointment in the evening and at the weekend?
Patients in Knowsley are able to benefit from extra GP appointments during normal surgery hours, in the evening and at the weekend.
The appointments are available in locations across the borough and we will aim to book you in at the most convenient time and location for you.
The appointments are available at: Nutgrove Villa in Huyton, Kirkby Primary Care Resource Centre, Halewood Primary Care Resource Centre and Whiston Primary Care Resource Centre.
Opening times vary between locations but overall Extended Access is available from 8am - 8pm, Monday - Friday and 10am - 8pm Saturday and Sunday.
